The former Maple Valley WA city manager is coming home, so to speak. His father-in-law grew up in the city.

Johnston will receive a salary of $140,000 annually.

Johnston has 20 years of experience as a government manager, having served as the City Manager for the City of Maple Valley, WA, Village Administrator for the City of Rantoul, IL and Coal City, IL, and Town Manager for the City of Westfield, IN.

Additionally, Johnston has experience serving as the Administrative Director of the Indiana Health Centers, Inc. and the Adjunct Faculty Member at Indiana University-Purdue University.

He replaces Larry Klein who was forced to resign earlier this year.
