Boone County Sheriff's deputies, the SWAT team and surrounding law enforcement agencies swarmed the Gunpowder Trails neighborhood in Burlington on Wednesday.
The neighborhood was blocked off and surrounded by law enforcement as a 70-year-old man was believed to be in nearby woods with a gun.
The situation lasted about five hours Wednesday.
As of 11:30 am, Thursday, the Sheriff's Office is yet to post information on its Facebook, as it often does.
The incident ended with the man taking his own life. His name is yet to be released.
