Boating malfunction kills
one, others hurt

FROM OFFICIAL POLICE REPORT: The body of a Felicity, Ohio man has been recovered following a collision Saturday on the Ohio River near Maysville. Two other people were injured.

According to police, 52-year-old Ronnie Parker was killed when a speed boat that he and three others were in malfunctioned.

Maysville Police Department Lt. Justin Horsh said Parker was killed when the speed boat began to spiin, throwing everyone from the boat.

None of boaters were wearing life vests, Horch said.

After the spin, two men on a pontoon boat came over to help those thrown into the water.

The two boats collided when two people from the pontoon came over to help those involved in the accident, police said. One man form the pontoon was seriously injured and airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, Maysville police and fire departments are working an accident scene on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River near the William Harsha Bridge.

Two boats, a pontoon type boat and a large speed boat may have collided and a least one person is missing, according to observers at the scene.

One boat was carrying two passengers and the other, three.
