Former Commissioner says he didn't want his name on clubhouse plaque

Former Covington Commissioner Steve Frank says his brief Facebook rant Wednesday evening had to do with not wanting his name on a plaque that was attached to the new Devou Park Golf Clubhouse.

Frank posted on Friday, "Who would want their name on a project promised at $4.25 million that had so many cost over runs that it came in at $6.5 million, 50% over the original estimate?".

"That (A) we can't afford (B) comes at the expense of the recreational dollars available for our poorest children and Latonia, our biggest working class neighborhood (C) that you repeatedly made known that you didn't want your name on their plaque ... but they chose to ignore you anyway," Frank wrote.

On social media Wednesday evening, the former commissioner exploded, still upset about the amount of money it cost to build the new golf clubhouse and ignoring his request to remove his name from the plaque.

Calling people involved with the project "sons of bitches" and promised to get even for something or another.

NKY News Network -- largest news source for Northern Kentucky -- was alerted to the rant that night. His comments were deleted by 6:30 am on Thursday.

"Maybe I could have taken a softer approach to having my name removed...but no apologies," he wrote today.
